New Toy

I recently got a digital SLR camera and I've been trying to learn how to use it to the best of its capabilities. Of course, I have a few favorite subjects: Emma (duh!), my babies and the flowers growing in our garden. I haven't quite figured it all out yet, but I'm pretty happy with the pictures so far.

Cutie Pie

This weekend I got to see the cutie pie while my mom, sister and I did some crafts.

Then Janda and I went for a walk at Stage Fort Park. It was a nice weekend.

Yardwork

Today I planted and weeded while Janda did this:

At the end of the day, all of the trees along the fence were gone!

Spring Fever

It's been an incredibly seasonable and even mild spring here in New England and Janda and I have been trying to enjoy it when not busy with work, etc... Our new past time this spring is kayaking. We have a deeded beach access down on the river, so we carry our kayaks down and check out Gloucester from the river-view.

The end of February

Wow, two months have passed and nothing notable enough to post! I guess it's been a busy/boring two months. We have done a few fun things, such as see Avatar and baby-sit Emma, but for the most part it's been winter doldrums and work work work (mostly for Janda!) We've also gotten a few things done around the house and just have a few things left for now. Almost time for our one-year in the house anniversary!

Looks like she likes it.

A rare moment when she isn't on the move.

A New Year

Yesterday we had some snow here, so after the snow stopped falling Janda and I went for a short walk to see our neighborhood in the snow. It was also an astronomically low tide, so we went and checked out the river too.

Then for New Year's Eve we had a really good dinner with our next door neighbor's and headed to bed around midnight.

Today we went into Salem for a road race that I ran and Janda watched. It was my first road race in ages and it went pretty well: 4 miles in 29:52. It wasn't quite what I hoped, but I was less than 15 seconds per mile off of my goal and had a little too much left at the end for my awesome finishing sprint- if there was an award for fastest last 100 I totally would have won. Still plenty of time to get into shape for the spring road races luckily!

Tonight we celebrated a New Year with my favorite meal: tacos. All in all a very good opening of the year.
