44 months! (August 2018)

This Spring and Summer, Vivien has become an expert on her push bike, tooling right along with Ryder up and down the street.  The past couple of months, Janda has been taking them to the skate park too.  With her push bike, or her scooter sometimes, Vivien goes right up and over most of the elements at our skate park.  She can't really do tricks, but that's hard with no pedals, but when she gets going on a pedal bike someday, she'll be ready try them out since she's so comfortable at the skate park.

Vivi has a life vest that she has been wearing down at the river for swimming lately and she has been loving it.  She can't quite do the swimming motion yet, but she loves to splash around.  She also loves to dig in the sand and scour the creek for little marine animals.  Not a day goes by that Vivi doesn't ask to go to the beach.  Luckily the river is so close that we can take them down for an hour or so and come home.

We took a camping trip near Stowe, VT this month, which the kids really liked.  Vivi was so excited about our campsite and sleeping in the tent.  We went on 2 hikes while we were up there.  It is still hard for Vivi to keep up, so we carried her a lot, but she still did a great job.  She really loves to run around and explore nature, even if she doesn't quite have enough stamina to keep up.

At the end of summer, we tried to cram a lot of fun before school started again.  We went to the local museum, to the Crane Estate in Ipswich and did some other fun activities.  Unless she is tired, Vivi is a great sport to go on all these adventures, as long as you bring snacks!
