45 Months! (September 2018)

September was back to school time for Vivi!  She went back to the same school, but she moved to the older kids classroom, so it's a little different.  She has 2 new main teachers, but she already knew them very well from last year, so it was barely different in that way.  She was a little nervous to go without Ryder, but she transitioned well and has fun, even without Ryder.  She definitely doesn't like it as much as she did when Ryder was there, but hopefully that's just temporary.  She is going 3 half days and 2 full days, so only a little bit more than last year.

Vivien has been off naps since last Spring, but she will now fall asleep at the most inopportune times, especially after school, which is tiring for her.  I would love it if she took an early afternoon nap, which she does on her full days at school, but more likely she sleeps from 4 or 5 until dinner and then she's wide awake at bedtime.  She is still good about going to bed though, especially if I give her a light and suggest that she read some books before she falls asleep.  She has also taken a liking to sleeping not in her bed.  She falls asleep on her bean bag or on her armchair and then I move her to her bed when I go to bed.

Vivi got to go on a field trip this month; somehow last year every field trip happened on a Tuesday or Thursday when she and Ryder were home, so this was her very first field trip.  The school went to Marini Farms and did the corn maze and a bunch of other fun fall things.  She had a really fun time; all the pictures that I saw she was smiling and laughing with the other kids.

We took our annual trip to the orchard to pick apples this month.  Vivi's favorite parts were chasing the birds and sitting in the tractor and "driving" it around!  Oh, and the donuts!  We also got to do some pumpkin picking at home as I planted a carving pumpkin plant and the compost pile yielded some mini pumpkin plants from last year's mini pumpkins.  The kids had great fun helping to pick and organize those.  I though we had about 50 but we ended up with around 100!  It was quite the sight to see them all lined up on the picnic table!

All smiles for the camera!

What a cutie!
