This month t-ball games and practices began. Ryder had one practice at the beginning of
the week and a game on Saturday morning.
It’s amazing to see his skills improve so quickly. He had never played any kind of baseball, not
even at home, so he’s had a lot of improvement over the course of the
month. His catching is ok, but his
throwing skills have really gotten better. Even though there are really no outs
in t-ball, Ryder did throw what would be an out to the 1st baseman
once or twice. His skills have improved
so much this month!
Ryder has been a little bit obsessed with rowing on the Erg
lately. He has a special rowing uniform
that he gets into- workout shorts and sneakers.
He will go into the office on his own and get going with the machine;
sometimes he needs help getting the computer set up, but other times he just
rows. He has rowed over 2K, all of his
own internal motivation! After he
finishes, he usually does some pushups and gets some water, and then shows us
how big his muscles have gotten. He
can’t wait to get bigger and stronger than Daddy!
When his school did Kindergarten orientation for next year’s
students, Ryder had no school, so he got to have a fun day with Mémé. He was pretty excited to have a bonus day
off, obviously! They went out and did
some errands, hit the dollar store and then went out to lunch. He really enjoyed his day off!
Ryder had another follow-up appointment at Children’s this
month and he had a few tests. The tests
were difficult for him this time, but he did a great job dealing with it. He was a real trooper with the tough stuff
and he was really well behaved for the appointments and endless waiting!
As usually happens in May, we had our first beach day! It was actually warm enough to go into the
water, although no one jumped in. Ryder
had a great time climbing around on the rocks, wading in up to his waist at
least, throwing rocks and looking for little animals.

A zen moment in the yard!
First beach day!
Look at that t-ball player!
